Presenting The Scarborough Town JazzFest 2014
The Scarborough Town Jazz Festival springs from a desire to bring family, friends and the business community together in celebration of cultures and music in the District of Scarborough. An international music festival surrounded by legendary performers, good food and exciting activities for everyone to enjoy!
This year will be the fourth year that Latin Music Productions is producing the Scarborough Town Jazz Festival.
The four-day day festival will take place on August 7th – 10th, 2014. Prior to the celebration there will be scheduled entertainment to give a taste of what can be expected during the Jazzfest. There will be music, dance, prizes, international cuisine and exhibits.
Our project, The Scarborough Town Jazz Festival is geared toward organizing events for cultural exchange. This year, the festival is focusing on the promotion of Canadian emerging artists and on tour promoting their new musical material. The festival will run (rain or shine) from Thursday, August 7 until Sunday, August 10, presenting so many genres of music. The festival will present 30 bands comprising 136 artists in total, foreign artists: 8 (around 6%); emerging Canadian artists: 24 (around 20%); Canadian artists promoting their CDs: 8 (around 20%), the audience will be delighted with the performances of such musicians as Jane Bunnett, Hilario Duran Trio, 2013 Juno winner David Buchbinder, Liberty Silver from Scarborough, and more important presentations from the Canadian scene. There will be two important performances from students of Canadian institutions (Rumberos and York University) and also the performance from Quincy Bullen jazz quartet formed by students from Scarborough neighborhoods.
